Email [SUPPORT EMAIL]From inside the app
Go to Settings › Send Feedback. It opens an email with your app version and iPhone model filled in, and you choose whether to include diagnostics.
It helps to include your iPhone model, iOS version and Genesis version (Settings › Help & About), and the steps that led to the problem. A screenshot or screen recording is even better.
Recording
Will it keep recording if my screen locks or I switch apps?
Yes. A take keeps recording when your iPhone locks or you switch to another app, just like Voice Memos. If a phone call comes in, Genesis stops the take and keeps everything up to that point.
Genesis can’t hear me. How do I allow the microphone?
Open the Settings app, scroll down to Genesis and turn on Microphone. If you tapped Don’t Allow the first time, this is the only place to change it.
Genesis uses the microphone only when you record, punch in, use the tuner or hear yourself in headphones. You’ll see the orange dot at the top of the screen whenever it’s on.
Why can’t I hear myself while I record?
Hearing yourself works with wired headphones and audio interfaces. It’s off on the iPhone speaker (it would feed back) and on Bluetooth headphones like AirPods, which add a delay. You can change this in Settings › Recording › Monitoring.
How do I fix one line without recording the whole take again?
That’s Punch-in, part of Genesis Pro. Open the track, start playback and tap the record button in its lane where you want to come in. The old take is kept, so you can compare and go back.
Songs and devices
How do I get my songs onto a new iPhone?
Two ways, and you can use both:
- iCloud Backup. Your Genesis songs are part of your iPhone’s iCloud Backup. Make sure it’s on (Settings › your name › iCloud › iCloud Backup), then set up the new iPhone from that backup. Your songs come back with Genesis.
- Export All Songs. In Genesis, go to Settings › Songs › Export All Songs. You get one file with every song: lyrics with chords, the chord chart, the mix and each track. Save it to Files or AirDrop it.
Syncing songs between your devices with iCloud is coming next.
I deleted a song by mistake. Can I get it back?
Yes, for 30 days. In the song list, tap ••• › Recently Deleted, then tap the song to recover it, recordings and all.
Which devices does Genesis work on?
Genesis 1.0 is for iPhone and needs iOS 26 or later. Key Finder and Tempo Finder need iOS 27. iPad and Mac versions aren’t available yet.
Can I bring in voice memos and lyrics I already have?
Yes. In the song list, tap ••• and choose Import, or share a voice memo or note to Genesis from another app. Each one becomes a song you can keep working on.
Live Lyrics, key and tempo
How big is the Live Lyrics download?
About 250 MB. The first time you use Live Lyrics, Genesis downloads its speech model once, on Wi-Fi. After that, Live Lyrics works offline. The model stays on your iPhone and isn’t included in your backups.
The Grand Piano chord sound is a separate download of about 77 MB, the first time you choose it.
Why don’t I see the key or tempo filled in?
Key Finder and Tempo Finder use music analysis that Apple added in iOS 27. On iOS 26, tap the key or tempo at the top of the song and set it yourself. Everything else works the same.
Live Lyrics wrote the wrong words. What can I do?
Tap the words and edit them like any text, or use Undo. Live Lyrics makes its best guess, and it works best with a clear voice and not too much else playing. You can choose Automatic, Ask Me or Off in Settings › Recording › Live Lyrics.
Subscription
How do I restore Genesis Pro on a new iPhone?
Sign in with the same Apple Account, open Genesis and go to Settings › Genesis Pro › Restore Purchases. There’s nothing else to sign in to.
How do I cancel?
Open the Settings app, tap Apple Account › Subscriptions › Genesis Pro › Cancel Subscription. Do it at least 24 hours before your renewal date. You keep Pro until the end of the time you’ve paid for. If you cancel during the free trial, you aren’t charged.
How do I ask for a refund?
Purchases go through the App Store, so Apple handles refunds. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple Account, choose “Request a refund” and pick Genesis Pro. I can’t see your payment details or issue refunds myself, but I’m happy to help if something went wrong.
What happens to my songs if Pro ends?
Nothing is taken away. Every recording still plays and exports, and the sound you shaped is still heard. You just can’t add past the free limits (3 tracks and 3 versions per song) or change Pro settings until you subscribe again.
Beta
How do I join the beta?
Install TestFlight from the App Store, then open the Genesis beta link on your iPhone: the Genesis TestFlight link. Tap Accept, then Install.
How do I send feedback during the beta?
Take a screenshot in Genesis and tap Share Beta Feedback, or open the TestFlight app, choose Genesis and tap Send Beta Feedback. If Genesis crashes, TestFlight asks whether to send a report: please do. You can also use Settings › Send Feedback in the app, or email me.
What should I know about beta builds?
Beta builds can have bugs, so keep a copy of anything important with Export All Songs. Each build lasts 90 days, and a new one usually arrives every week or two. Subscriptions in TestFlight are free test purchases and don’t carry over. When Genesis comes to the App Store, install it over the beta and your songs stay.
